Choose a sturdy, undamaged box that fits the size and weight of your shipment. Seal all seams securely with strong packing tape, and ensure the contents are properly cushioned.

Yes, size and weight restrictions vary depending on the service you select. For example: • FedEx Express® U.S. Services: Ship packages up to 150 pounds (68 kilograms), with maximum dimensions of 119 inches (302 cm) in length and 165 inches (419 cm) for length and girth combined.
• FedEx Express International Services: Ship packages up to 150 pounds (68 kilograms), with dimensions of up to 108 inches (274 cm) in length and 130 inches (330 cm) in length and girth combined.
• FedEx Express® Freight Services: Ship skids weighing 150 pounds (68 kg) or more. Skids over 2,200 pounds (998 kg) or with dimensions exceeding 70 inches (178 cm) in height, 119 inches (302 cm) in length, or 80 inches (203 cm) in width require prior approval. Freight packages can weigh up to 20,000 pounds (9,072 kilograms) and measure up to 21 feet in length.
• FedEx Ground® and FedEx Home Delivery®: Ship packages up to 150 pounds (68 kilograms), with a maximum length of 108 inches (274 cm) and a combined length and girth of 165 inches (419 cm).

FedEx offers free envelopes and boxes, but only for expedited services. These materials cannot be used with FedEx Ground or FedEx Home Delivery.

Make sure to use at least 2 inches (5 cm) of cushioning material, like bubble wrap, foam, or packing peanuts, to prevent items from shifting or getting damaged during transit.

Use pressure-sensitive plastic tape that is at least 2 inches (5 cm) wide, or water-activated reinforced tape. Avoid using masking tape, duct tape, or string. If using water-activated paper tape, make sure it’s at least 60 lb (27 kg) grade.
